The purpose of this study was to prepare and characterize Hydroxyapatite from natural source. Hydroxyapatite fine powder with average size particle of 10.324 um had been prepared by heating bovine bone at temperature 800°C and planetary milled for several hours. The phase of HA were investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and the thermal stability was studied by using thermo gravimetric analyzer (TGA). Samples was prepare by mixing natural hydroxyapatite (NaHA) powder with PEG and calgon then compact. The samples were sintered at 1150°C and 1200°C for 3 hours. The percentage of bulk density and porosity was investigate using Archimedes method while the microstructure evolution of HA was observed using scanning electron microscope (SEM).en_US
