Abstract: Washing machines in the market can be represented as single cylindrical forced vortex flow. In generally, this type of washing approach use rotating drum and rotary actuator installed at the bottom washing drum to generate rotating effect during washing process. There are two basic design of washing machine available in the market which is can be represented by horizontal and vertical feature. Tumbling action and mass transfer are the mechanical action applied in horizontal washing machine where in the vertical type, actuator or bottom spindle rotate the wash load to blends it with the cleaning solution while the drum is rotating. This paper will investigate the washing quality of the single and double cylindrical forced vortex flow on cloth.
