Ethanol from renewable resources has been of interest in recent decades as an alternative fuel or oxygenate additive to the current fossil fuels in this project, we used paddy straw as the biomass. Paddy straw is a lignocellulosic material that are cheap, renewable sources and available in large quantities in Perlis, Malaysia. Cellulose, the major fraction of lignocellulosic biomass (paddy straw) were first hydrolyzed to glucose by cellulose anzyme from Aspergillius niger. Then the cellulose fractions of paddy straw were fermented with Soccharomyces cerevisiae and convert the sugar to ethanol and carbon dioxide. Ethanol productions in this project were proved by using chemical test.en_US
