Abstract: In the present work an attempt has been made to study the dry sliding wear behaviour of aluminium/slag composites fabricated via powder metallurgy. The sliding wear test has been conducted in a pin-on-disc testing machine. The various influence factors were studied such sliding distance, applied load and content of slag in composites. The experimental results were used to developed mathematical model for the wear behaviour containing linear effects of factors considered. Analysis of variance (ANOVA) technique is applied to check the validity of the developed model. Significant factors are found out by using t-test. The developed mathematical model can be used for predicting the wear coefficient of Al/slag composite incorporating the effect of weight percent of slag, applied load and sliding distance.
