dc.description.abstractImage enhancement is an important enabling technology in image processing field. One of the available methods to enhance images is using histogram equalization (HE) which is generally successful for recovering some of apparently lost contrast in an image. In HE technique, the probability density function (pdf) is manipulate by changing the pdf of a given image into the uniform pdf. This paper will review the core component of image enhancement followed by histogram equalization (HE) technique and some modification of histogram equalization. Sample image before and after performing the HE will also be presented in this paper.en_US
