Abstract: In this paper, a linear mathematical model of the satellite attitude control is derived for the Gravity Gradient (GG) controls method, which represents a passive control design. Natural physical properties of the satellite and its environment were used to derive the mathematical model. After completing the mathematical derivation, simulation results were carried out using MATLAB software. This paper demonstrates that the purely passive GG stabilization is unsatisfactory and the mathematical model of the new system is developed.
