Abstract: | This paper deals with a crack problem for a nearly circular shape in plane elasticity. The problem of ¯nding the result- ing shear stress can be written in a single hypersingular integral equation form. By making a suitable representation of hypersingular integral equation, the problem is reduced to that of solving a system of linear equations. This system is then solved for the unknown coe±cients, which will be used in ¯nding the sliding mode stress intensity factor. Nu- merical examples are shown and compare with the existing asymptotic solutions. |
