dc.description.abstract | An experiment was done on the nickel zinc ferrite (NiZnFe₂O₄) sample with an addition of polyester at different amount (x=0.0, 0.2, 0.4, 0.6, 0.8 and 1.0) to determine the thermoelectric properties of the respective mixed samples. Usually, ferrite materials
have been used as magnetic materials but the NixZnO1-xFe₂O₄ thermoelectric properties
is not well discussed and discovered. Seebeck coefficient was used to develop a new
device that could have good and efficient thermoelectric characteristic. The results of this experiment is to measure the impact values by using different ratio (x=0.0, 0.2, 0.4, 0.6,0.8 and 1.0) on the properties of NixZnO1-xFe₂O₄ and the mixture ratio with polyester toinvestigate the effect of varies sintering temperature and different sintering atmosphere on the sample's characteristic. NixZnO1-xFe₂O₄ samples were prepared by using
conventional solid-state method. A suitable amount of Ni, ZnO and Fe2O₄ powder was
mixed and formed into a pellet. Then, they were sintered at 1000C and 1100C. Samples
were then characterized by using pcynometer for the density measurement, X-ray
diffraction for the phase analysis, and the mechanical properties of the materials were
measured by using Vickers microhardness. Then, all the samples were crushed with
mortar and mixed with polyester and poured into a mold to get a pellet form samples.
Next, the samples were characterized as the previous testing methods. Finally, both of the two types tested sample's results were taken and it’s showed that as the temperature
increases, the density also increased. The tested samples also showed the presence of the NixZnO1-xFe₂O₄ phase. So, from the research done, the optimal outcome for the
thermoelectric properties were taken out as the best result. | en_US |
