    Abstract
Lateritic soil is the result from the formation of hot and humid tropical regions that enriched in iron and aluminium and have been developed with intensive and long lasting sediment from main rocks. Lateritic soil can easily be founded in hot and wet surfaces area such as in Malaysia, that is why lateritic soil have been taken as absorbent materials to heavy metals (Chromium VI) in study of waste water treatment. This is because many existing technologies are using activated carbon as absorbent materials and treatments to heavy metals (Chromium VI). The methodology of this study includes the provision of lateritic soil as absorbing heavy metals, physical and chemical properties in lateritic soil. In this project, lateritic soil will be tested to study the effects of pH, contact time, dosage of lateritic soil and the concentration of chromium with synthesis experiment methods. Lateritic soil will be also tested and studied with wastewater. From the final result, it can be concluded that lateritic could be recommended as alternative absorbing materials to heavy metal (Chromium VI) in waste water up to 64.17%.
