Abstract: Current transformer (CT) has a critical role in protective and measurement devices used in both the industrial and the utility worlds. However, the used of current transformer in harmonic condition brings some effects in terms of the ratio, phase angle and CT performance. Current transformer also may not be protecting accordantly when harmonic pollutions exist in the power system. Therefore, it is necessary to investigate the reaction of current transformer with the harmonic distortion. The different percentage of current harmonic distortion (THDi) was applied to the current transformer. Primary current, secondary current and fundamental harmonic until 15th harmonic was measured.
